Our Aircraft Ground Deicing Fluids are designed to
safely remove frost, snow & ice from your aircraft prior to flight. They're
recommended for use on all fixed wing, metal aircraft, including piston,
turboprop, and jet. They’re typically sprayed hot, directly onto the aircraft
surfaces from a handheld or powered deicing sprayer, and remove frost, snow
& ice by thermal action and by lowering the freezing point of the frozen
layer. If applied properly, not only will the frozen contaminates be
removed from your aircraft, but the residual fluid will not refreeze upon
takeoff…. They will not harm your aircraft, and are biodegradable.
o Caution #1: Each
formulation of our 'Formula I' & 'Formula I-Plus' deicing fluids has a known freeze point. An application
'buffer' of at least 18° F. between the known freeze point of the deicing fluid
and the ambient air temperature is required. Also, the Lowest Operational
Use Temperature is -26° F; do not apply our SAE Type I deicing fluid at ambient
air temperatures lower than -26° F.
o Caution #2: These are
DEICING, not anti-icing, fluids. The residual fluid layer remaining after
deicing provides only very limited anti-icing capabilities; refer to the "Holdover
Table" for more data.
o Caution #3: These fluids provide no
protection against icing in flight.
To provide a full range of deicing capabilities,
we offer three formulations of deicing fluid:
o 'Formula
I' - is applied undiluted & hot at ambient air
temperatures to -12° F.
o 'Formula
I-Plus' - is applied undiluted & hot at ambient air
temperatures to -26° F.
o 'Formula
X' - is a concentrate that's to be diluted with water in the field to
tailor the deicing
fluid's formulation
for application to specific ambient air temperatures.
