Our
Powered Deicing Carts are designed specifically for FBO, Air Charter, Corporate, Cargo, and Flight School operations for all general aviation aircraft.  They will quickly and efficiently spray aircraft ground deicing or anti-icing fluid on your aircraft prior to takeoff.  These portable, 3-wheeled carts are powered by either a small gasoline engine or a 12-volt electric pump.  While both types will spray deicing or anti-icing fluid, they each have different characteristics which make them more appropriate for one type of fluid over the other.

The gasoline engine powered carts are more appropriate for outdoor use, and are typically used for deicing operations using SAE Type I deicing fluids.   These carts use a 3.5 or 5.0 hp gasoline engine coupled to a positive pressure pump, which provides adjustable fluid flow rates and pressures of up to 7.0 gpm/150 psi and 10.0 gpm/300 psi respectively, appropriate to deicing operations.   The standard carts range in capacity from 14 to 300 gallons (and up to 1000 gallons on special order), and all can be equipped with an electric immersion heater to heat the deicing fluid to a maximum of 160 F.

These carts are not recommended for anti-icing operations, as the positive pressure pump continuously circulates the fluid, which can deteriorate the viscosity of SAE Type IV anti-icing fluids.

The 12-volt electrically powered carts are appropriate for either indoor or outdoor use, and are typically used for anti-icing operations using SAE Type IV anti-icing fluid. These carts use a small 12-volt, 3-chamber diaphragm, non-circulating pump with a demand pressure switch which provides fluid flow rates of up to 2.0 gpm/60 psi.  Because these carts can be used in a hanger, provide lower fluid pressure and flow rates (vs the gasoline engine powered carts), and do not continuously circulate the fluid, they are particularly suitable for anti-icing operations prior to moving the aircraft outdoors.  While these carts are supplied complete like the gasoline engine powered carts, they are set up to obtain 12-volt power via cables/alligator clips from your aircraft tug.  As an option, an automatic, on-board charging/battery system makes these units completely self-contained.
